Essential requests and storage

Your browser contacts the hosting provider to load this site, Google Fonts to load typography, and Wikidata/Wikipedia for film searches and descriptions. These providers receive network information such as your IP address. Searches include a film title or identifier. Open-data responses are cached locally to reduce repeat requests. Your display preferences and any ratings you enter are stored on this device. Cached API responses normally expire after six hours, search responses after one hour and personal rating entries after 30 days. Browser storage can be cleared in your browser; each film has a button to clear its saved personal ratings.

Analytics

Google Analytics is not loaded until you accept analytics through Privacy choices. The analytics consent record expires after 180 days. You can decline, change or withdraw consent on any page. On withdrawal we stop further page event collection in this page, clear matching first-party Google measurement cookies where accessible, and reload without analytics. Browser or third-party storage outside our domain may require your browser settings.

Advertising

The site retains its Google AdSense publisher identifier. Ad delivery is gated separately from analytics: the local analytics banner is not a certified advertising CMP. In this build the advertising switch is off until a certified CMP is configured for the domain. Once enabled, the site waits for an appropriate CMP signal before loading AdSense. Community service

The existing community API is hosted on Cloudflare. Reading community ratings sends a film identifier. Typing a rating does not automatically submit it: only after you tick the sharing option will subsequent manual entries be offered to the service with a film ID, source field and rating. The service receives your IP address as part of the connection. Its server-side retention, hashing, moderation and abuse controls cannot be confirmed from this static site bundle. Do not assume a community value has been checked against the original review website.

Optional Anthropic lookup

This feature sends the chosen film query and your API key directly to Anthropic. Requests may be billed to your Anthropic account. The key is kept only in the password field on the current page, not persistent local storage. Clear it using the Clear API key button or close the page. Old keys saved by earlier versions are removed from local storage when the tool starts. No key is embedded in this distribution. AI suggestions can be wrong; they start excluded from the calculated indices.

Contact and your choices

There is no user account system. If you email us, your email provider and ours process that correspondence. We do not claim that network requests are anonymous. Contact Daan through the contact page for access, correction or deletion requests relating to information we control, or to ask about processing and retention. You can also contact the relevant service provider or your data protection authority where applicable.

Changes

We update this notice when the implementation changes. A change to this notice does not by itself grant consent to optional processing.
